This was a fun project, I had a rusty scrap of steel laying around and wanted to make a simple container to hold some general shop tools. I used an Oxy-Acetylene torch to braze the squares together. I am defiantly not a welder, but I really enjoy brazing. I also like the way this turned out.
In the shop, I often need to jot down some notes or sketch out a project so I decided to make some clipboards.…
Years ago I came across an old house that was being renovated and spotted a piece of 2×4 sticking out of the trash so I grabbed it. Since the growth rings were very tight and thought that I would build a nice box for some of my mechanical pencils with it.
I have long been a fan of Nick Offerman, since the early days where he and Jimmy DiResta built a canoe. Recently I got the chance to power read ( look at the pictures and glance at some of the words ) Nicks book called Good Clean Fun. This is a great book and I will have to circle back to it when I have a bit more time.
After finishing the Walnut IQ Puzzle I had a number of small tools and pencils all over the bench. It was time to make a shop pencil holder!
The shop is still really cold, But I had to get out of the house. You can see frost on some of my tools and also on the wood!
Watch as I make a very simple pencil holder for my growing collection.
I want to thank Jimmy Diresta and Gary Vaynerchuk simply because they are both inspirational and genuine people. Both Jimmy and Gary said that hey often make content and keep it unlisted but the point is that something was made. And that got me thinking about my own projects.
